UPDATE 27/07/09

Less than a month between updates! Get in!

Not a lot to report really... YWF are currently in discussions over  a couple of interesting projects, namely providing tracks for a UK wrestling company and an independent iPod game developer. More news on this to follow as details are confirmed...

Debut gig of the new five-piece Fail has been confirmed as the Bobstock All Dayer at The Bobbin, Lancaster on Bank Holiday Sunday 30th August! Rehearsals are going great, with Mike picking up all the songs really quickly, and I'm sure all our fans will be blown away by the depth his synth sections add to the songs. I hope everyone comes down on 30th to raise a tankard with us to celebrate, and I'll confirm set times and other artists as soon as I have the info...

Still filming with Mycho pictures. The whole production has been more arduous than any of us anticipated, but we're all digging deep to keep it moving forward... The actors get to look at the first rough edit of what's been shot so far later on this week, which I'm giddy about. What little bits I've seen so far have impressed me, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it all hangs together.

Exciting secret project has taken a bizarre turn, so I'm even more in the dark than I was last month! We may have to go back to the drawing board on this one... Arse biscuits!

I'm putting ink to paper for the final ROP II cover and poster this Thursday, then it shouldn't be long before Shad starts cracking the whip for me to start piecing it all together...

As I have been quite poor recently (even by my standards!), I've been staying in a lot, which has meant I've caught up on some of the games I've been hoarding. I'm toying with the idea of making a "Recommended By RAW" section of the site, but knowing me, this'll join the huge pile of to do my brain keeps curling out...

Ta ra for now!

UPDATE 29/06/09

It has been made clear to me that I'm shit at keeping this site updated, this being the first news update for over two years, so if anyone has been checking back here periodically for updates, I apologise for the loss of your time, but I'm hoping to keep this updated more frequently from now on...

So what has happened in the past couple of years in the world of RAW? You Will Fail has been taking up most of my time, with writing, recording and gigs. We got to the LEP Battle Of The Bands Final (the final 4 out of 40 artists from all styles, including DJs) last September in Preston, which was, in terms of atmosphere and reaction probably the best gig we have ever played. We may not have won the judges' votes, but by that stage we were buzzing on the reaction, so we didn't really care... With some support from our families we went into Calder Recordings in Yorkshire in February of this year for four days, to record a 5 song demo EP (which you can listen to in full at youwillfail.net). We will be going back later in the year to record a full album, so watch this space!

You Will Fail are also pleased to announce the addition of "Dready" Mike Fallon from the dearly departed Nurse Of War on synths, which will add the extra dimensions from our recordings to our live sets. So far he's working out great, so we plan to start gigging as a five-piece from the end of August... More details to follow as they are confirmed...

Both myself and Welly from YWF are also currently appearing as masked maniacs in a feature-length horror film called Creepsville from Mycho Productions, being shot in Preston over the summer. As I get more info, I'll be updating my site, but in the meantime check out more over at Mycho's site http://mjdixon.co.nr/

Graphics wise, I have mainly been doing stuff for the band, but a notable exception is the artwork for the first Rock On Preston CD, showcasing fourteen local bands. The first CD has been a great success, so I am now working on the artwork concepts for the next one, which this time will feature a track from our very own You Will Fail! More info on ROP can be found at http://www.myspace.com/rockonpreston

Things have been really quiet on the game-design front, but I have some fun ideas to tie in to an exciting, top-secret project I'm working on with some of the Preston metal scene's finest, but I have already said too much...

Due to popular demand, I'll be dusting off my acoustic comedy set soon, so if you missed Inner Hamster, Emo Rock Song and Romancing The Elderly the first time, or you for some insane reason want to subject yourself to them again, keep an eye on my site for updates, or add me on myspace (www.myspace.com/jonnyraw) or facebook (http://www.facebook.com/jonnyraw)...

Roll and ROCK!
